Metrowest Academy of Jiu Jitsu

About Us:

Empower | Encourage | Inspire

The Metrowest Academy of Jiu-Jitsu is a leader in self-defense classes in the Metrowest area. We are confident that our program will empower students, enhance focus, encourage discipline, and inspire each student’s self-esteem.

Our particular martial arts style is derived from the traditional Japanese Hakko-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu. The physical art of American Jiu-Jitsu focuses on leverage, off-balance, and the knowledge of anatomy to overcome an attacker. Jiu-Jitsu translated means “the Gentle Art,” so while it is nice to have size, strength, and flexibility, those are not required to unarm an attacker. We are primarily a stand-up Jiu Jitsu style with an emphasis on standing defense, defense against weapons, ground defense, and multiple attackers.

Training at the Metrowest Academy is intense and highly effective. But most of all, it’s FUN! From the moment you walk in to the end of class the experience is positive. Join for yourself or join for your family. But join!

What a great place! The instructors are fantastic — enthusiastic, motivating, and challenging. The community is also great — students care about each other, share their knowledge and skills, and have a ton of fun. I’m here four or five days a week, and can’t say enough good things about the Academy. Check it out, come to have fun!
