Our Team

The Metrowest Academy’s Leadership Class is designed to offer Juniors and young Adults a great opportunity to learn what it is to lead, inspire, and teach others. The instruction, class discussions and interactive exercises are meant to help our young adults learn what it means to be a leader. The classes focus on the students strengths while making them aware of their weaknesses. Students will be engaged in lectures and open discussion as well as receive practice in teaching technique, public speaking and personal coaching We’re so excited to offer our junior leaders this great opportunity which offers experiences that will help them in the Academy and in life.

I learned of Metrowest Academy from my pediatrician after I informed her that I was seeking a dojo for my kids (ages 7 and 11 at the time). I had already visited a half-dozen schools without finding what I was seeking. On her recommendation, I brought my kids in for the trial and was immediately struck by Sensei Paul’s skillful education of the class. He treated them as near to adults as they could be expected to handle, with a firm but empathetic tone. The school of training he provides is heavily focused on practical self-defense. After two weeks of watching the kids take classes I couldn’t hold out any longer and signed myself up for the adult class, and I’m glad I did. It is often said that the best measure of a person is the quality of their friends. If one extends this approach to a sensei and his students, then Sensei Paul is truly outstanding. There are times that I’m tempted to skip a class but the opportunity to go work out with the excellent community at the dojo will tip the scales and I’ll go to class. No ego trip for the sensei, scare tactics about the dangerous world, or pressure to go compete for the school. Just an excellent education in self-defense, self-control, and maturity, taught by and with great people.
