Metrowest Academy of Jiu Jitsu ("we," "us," "the Academy") runs this website and the programs described on it at 61 Worcester St, Natick, MA 01760. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If you have a privacy question, call us at (508) 315-3251.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you request a free class, send a message, or sign up for a program, you give us your name, the student's name, a phone number, an email address, and whatever else you choose to tell us about your goals or your child's needs. Members also provide the billing and emergency-contact information our membership software needs.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical data when you visit: the pages you view, the approximate region you are in, your browser and device type, and the site that referred you. This comes from standard analytics and from our website host. It is not tied to your name.

We do not collect payment card numbers on this website. Membership billing runs through our membership software, and firearms course payments are handled directly.

How we use it

We use your information to do the things you asked us to do and to run the Academy:

• Schedule and confirm your free class, and follow up if you do not show
• Answer questions you send us
• Manage memberships, attendance, rank, and billing
• Send you Academy news, schedule changes, and event notices
• Keep the mat safe, which means knowing about injuries, medical conditions, and who is authorized to pick up a child
• Understand which pages and programs people actually use, so we can improve them

We do not sell your information. We never have.

Text messages

If you give us your phone number, we may text you about your trial class, your schedule, or your account. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not cancel your membership, and we will still reach you by phone or email when something needs your attention.

Who else sees it

We share information only with the companies that help us operate, and only as much as they need:

• Our website host, which serves these pages
• Our membership and scheduling software, which stores member records
• Our email and text messaging providers, which deliver the messages we send you
• Analytics providers, which report anonymous traffic patterns

Each of these is bound to use the information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a student, an instructor, or the Academy.

Children

Most of our students are children. Parents and guardians provide the information for students under 18, and parents control it. Children do not create accounts on this website. If you believe a child has sent us information without a parent's knowledge, call us and we will remove it.

Photos and video of classes and events sometimes appear in Academy marketing. Tell us in writing if you do not want your child pictured, and we will honor that.

Cookies

This site uses cookies to keep the site working, remember basic preferences, and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what information we have about you, correct anything wrong, or delete records we are not required to keep. Massachusetts residents, and residents of states with their own privacy laws, may have additional rights. To make a privacy request, call (508) 315-3251 or email metrowestacademy.jiujitsu@gmail.com. We will not treat you differently for asking.

We keep member records as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period after, to handle billing questions, injury records, and rank history.

Security

We use reputable providers and limit who inside the Academy can see member records. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated policy.
